Just found this Internet Wayback Machine utility today. Pretty cool stuff.

October 7, 1999 - Houston had "183 baskets in the ground".

As of today there's 296 installed baskets within a 25-mile radius of 77002.

ERic: This is totally awesome! The first time I tried it...it never completely filled it in, but Stimpy pointed me at this tonight and I had the patience to sit through a couple of "refreshes" and it eventually filled in and seemed pretty functional.

Does anyone remember what date the old one got whacked?

IIRC it was March 2008.

You sent this e-mail on Apr 18, 2008:

Subject: HFDS website - It looks crummy, but I can update it.

Folks,

I have had to begin rebuilding the HFDS website from scratch.

I have it operational to an extent that will allow me to update it with league/mini results and to begin publishing announcements if you have any.

If anyone wants to submit any graphics to spiffy the site up some, then they would be readily used!

Gents, I built the website layout and details that were being used until we lost the site. Unfortunately I have been way too busy to keep the site up to day, and Larry was supposed to rebuilt and replace this at the time. He is also very busy with the new gig, and so the placeholder has remained for some time. I still have the older layout, but still don't have the time to stay on top of the site. I'm sure HFDS would consider any volunteers to build/keep it up to date. It is being hosted for free on my account, and has for a while.

I'm currently looking into a Content Managment System for the new site while also making time for sketches in my schedule. I can make a site in a couple of days but I'd rather create something lasting.

So... what would you like to see on a new HFDS site?

I am also willing to volunteer to help HFDS get a new site together. I've got about fifteen years of web experience and built the TLVDGC.org website.

Nick - Chris,

I sure do appreciate your willingness to help the club out by doing it.

I see that I've got a few questions to answer, but realistically, I'm probably NOT going to get a chance to answer all of them until after this weekend.

The Player Ratings and all of the league worksheets are saved using some finicky settings of doing a "Save As" and choosing HTML format. If you can get the worksheet to save as a single HTML file then it should work fine, it's when it gets saved with some functionality that the website started choking on displaying the stuff.

Thanks guys!

Personally I think this site is set up pretty well for the average internet poker. Its very friendly to my mobile and I don't think I've had any hangups at this point. Improvements are always cool as long as its worth it and doesn't cause the webmaster to much headache.
