I'm out of town till Saturday morning. That's the reason for the change. Kills me that 1 of our leading players can't make on Sunday for the tourney portion of the event. I know the Sunday routine. I have to make adjustments as well. Would run something Saturday too but I can't be there. I might run a glow round Saturday night.

Looks like the second course might be ready for World's Biggest...don't forget, you South Siders! May 2nd & 3rd at the south end's bestest course...and with the completion of the new course, maybe one of the best places to play in the "Houston" area period! Thanks to Jake, Boo, Randy, Rob and a host of others (including me a couple of times even!) making this second course more than just a pipe dream (which has to be how it started, right?)....the new course SHALL ROCK!!!!

Jake,

Who will run the doubles on Sat? Isidro Rodriguez and myself (Sam Price) will be partners in the Pro field and Laci Rodriguez and my son Jhon Price will play in Rec together. I just want to let Isidro and Laci know so we who to contact and and when. I know the board said between 2-4pm. If that is still the right time than cool. Looking forward to the fun.

Mike Solis and me are running doubles. I'll be there around 1pm with score cards.

Pro, Advance, Intermediate and Rec. divisions.

$10 per team. Cash for pro's, plastic for Ams.

Play as many times as you want but not with the same team member.

Only 2 teams per card please. We want to get many teams through the NEW course as possible.

See you all Saturday.

I'll try to remember to bring a registration form for the Brooks tourney to TLV this Sunday....remember, however, that it will be a doubles tournament, so you need to find yourself a partner!

yes i like doubles. i mean the guy i got to play with me is not very good and hasn't played in like three months but doubles tournies are more about fun then seriousness. I mean i would like to win, but i won't be as serious as i am in singles. yes that would be nice if you could bring a registration to TLV this sunday. Thanks

It's amazing to think the record of 16 down was broken a couple years back when Bubba and Jerry scored a 17 down.

W/O going the the tourney info, what is the format? I got the doubles, but is it 2 rounds?

It is typically two rounds, with a split of worst shot, best shot, best disc, and alternate shot for 9 holes each. I don't know if Chuck has the official word yet, and I know he hasn't picked which course/holes will be which.

Sunday afternoon Minis are back at Brooks (on the Cedar Hills Course) beginning in December. Gelling the details. I'm thinking Am's will play for plastic provided by our own Old School Dave and his disc shop, and the Pro's will obviously play for green backs.

Price: Around 6 to 8 for am's and 10 for pros includes the dollar ace pot

Time: Between a 2 - 3 tee off

Questions: Come out and em.

Yeah, it is a darn shame so many players can turn out to sink sleeves in the ground or to put together baskets for a new course, but if "real" work is required like cutting and dragging brush only a select few are willing to help. The course remembers!

Thank you very much to the folks that helped last Saturday. H3ll, Lou and Roger drove 80 miles to help. Randy, Boo, Cody and Sean are the hero’s. W/O their tenacity this course would not be in the final stage that it is.

The Bermuda triangle is proving to be a formable force to tame and concur. But we will prevale.

All I can say is the course will be done when it's done. Had 3 more people showed up Saturday, at least one on the holes could have been completed. For now, get back to the roots of disc golf and play to a tree.

R.J. asked me to post here about The Turkey Shoot at Jack Brooks Park this Sunday morning. Everyone's invited to come out to play...sign-up between 9:00 & 9:40....tee off at 10:00! This will be on the original course & will have recreational, intermediate & advanced divisions....$5.00 for every division...not sure about ace pot or payout structure (whether it's top half or top three per division), but either way it should still be a good time! The first one of these a couple of weeks ago drew lots of people....so there should be plenty of competition...plus you could practice up for Birdshot's Doubles Tourney next weekend!

I think I will actually make this one as well. Just wanted to throw out a shout of THANKS! to all the Jack Brooks Crew that were so hospitable to some of us NORTH SIDERS yesterday! I rarely make it out to Brooks, but between the hospitality and the ACE I hit on #4 yesterday, I'm pretty sure I'd be willing to make the drive again next weekend. Thanks guys!
