How is the course looking? Has the water gone down any? I am thinking about heading up there tomorrow.

It's fine. Bring the bug spray though
Small amount of water in the fairway of 2, 7 is soggy/muddy and a mosquito haven as well as 8. Besides that it's normal.

Thanks for the info

I played out there today. #7 is just a little muddy, but nothing bad at all. I was shocked that I didn't even have to use my Skeeter spray. Only had one land on me , and that was it.

Hey guys. Heads up if you plan on playing Bear Branch soon. In the past couple of days (occurring on the same day) someone's bag was stolen from the trunk of their car and a truck was stolen. This happened about mid day when there usually aren't many people playing. It really sucks that some of the people out here give the course such a bad reputation for having discs and now vehicles stolen.

Easy fix: Go play Spring Valley! 1/2 price green fees on Mondays and minis Tuesday @ 5:00 PM as well as Sunday @ 10:00 AM

seems like lots of things are happening in the area.

better carry something else besides discs.

Heads Up:
The Long tee for #3 has been moved to the woods by the fairway of #4.
It's a decent shot. Not sure why they moved the original though.

I don't like the new tee. Wasn't the smartest idea that someone had. Pretty much puts the box on the right side of #4's fairway. Right in the way of where pretty much everyone lands for their drive on #4.

Long tee for #3 was moved back to its original position.

fine. soaks it up fast since it's been so dry.
i would assume it might be a little muddy today though in some spots because of the heavy rain we had yesterday

Just a little update on this course. The North Side Chain Gang Course Steward for Bear Branch had a small crew out there this past Saturday, and they did a TON of brush clearing and trash duty out there.
Played it on Sunday, and the place is in the best condition it has been in for a while. Thanks Justin!:D

Played today. New tee pads all over the place and lots of ground work done near them. Looks nice

Wow, I havn't played Bear Branch in a long time. I might just have to go up there on Saturday. Would love to play a round with you Chase, I can't get there till Saturday afternoon, but if anyone wants to play, let me know. Wife has to work that weekend, so I am on my own.

The course looked great. Played with Chase, SpringDG, Tiff and Patrick. Had a good time, but I think we all could have played better. Weather was perfect.

Went over there for a couple of hours at lunch, seems to be drying up.

What condition is this course in right now? I know it gets flooded on a few of the holes and I am planning on heading here on Friday, if it is dry or fairly dry.

ChaseTheAce

played today. everything is basically dry. as long as it doesn't rain a ton the course drains fairly quickly

Is it just me or does the pond look extra disgusting. Chase, get in there and grab my yellow "flying pig open" X-Caliber I threw in there from 3's long tee.

That algal bloom is crazy! My guess is that the fertilizers used on the soccer fields have runoff into the pond, causing the algae to grow rapidly. If that's not the case then the algae must be trying to out-compete something.

Good chance Senor Woody aka Cancun aka Uri will find it, ink your name out, and attempt to sell it for more than you paid for it. I will definitely check next time I am in though
