The mystery here is who your partner will be. It will be Random Draw Doubles for the first round on the sticks. Everybody will finish, scores recorded and then another Random Draw Doubles for the 2nd round on the bricks. Best shot format on both rounds. Everything else is same as usual. Your score for both rounds will be totaled to see where you finish in your division. Birdshot is wanting to put a little variety in our minis formats. :)
So come out on Saturday, July 25th and register between 8 and 9 to see who you end up playing with. We will have water coolers on the course.

Okay...I'm a little confused about how this is going to work.

Will there only be a drawing for a partner from within the same division? Or could I possibly draw an Open player and a rec player might draw another rec player as a partner?

It'll be mixed, Larry....kinda like Conrad does for the end of league doubles stuff (or at least he did that once when I went). Yeah, we might end up with two advanced players together or two open or rec....since it's just a mini & no points or ratings are involved, it's mostly just for fun anyway. You won't know who you end up with for either round!

Thanks Billy-man! I'll check with my bride and see if I might be able to get some parole for this... Might be one of the last times we'll get to play Mozola before they start pulling baskets for construction projects.

Yeah, you might be right about that! And after all this rain, I'll bet it might be a little slippery in the usual spots!! But it should still be fun...and we will be playing best shot both rounds. If we did alternate one of the rounds then it's possible an open player paired with a rec player would get the shaft, so we'll keep it best shot.

Warning Warning Will Robinson!!! Trouble in Paradise!!

The Houston Bayou beautification society will be at Mozola Saturday from 9-11 picking up trash and debris, pulling non-native plants and generally getting in the way.....

Switching to the afternoon?

Switching to the afternoon?

Would we still have time for 2 rounds? If we try to save time by going without much of a break, that might prove to be a little exhausting in the heat. I'm an indoor meskin. I went to college so that wouldn't be me out there picking up trash.

I wouldn't expect them to be in our way...and we shouldn't be in theirs either. I don't know why you'd even worry about this unless you're anticipating that the park will be closed Michael...are you?

I don't know if I've got this format figured out right, but it looks like it's two rounds of 9 holes with a partner-redraw in between. We should be able to do two half-rounds in pretty good time, right? I'm trying to nail down plans for afterwards so I won't be making it if the time changes to later on.

I'll call Chuck & make him aware...but I don't expect him to change to the afternoon. Hopefully we won't get in each other's way out there...

Just talked to Chuck & we will still attempt to play around them in the morning. Mike said a trailer might be in the way on one of the holes if you shoot poorly....treat it like a rough & shoot well!;) Hopefully there won't be any problems....and it couldn't be that much different from having to watch out for joggers & bikers like you always have to do out there! See you Saturday morning!!!

Thanks for the update Billy!

Sorry I couldn't take your call just now...I was on a web-seminar and my desk phone doesn't have a mute button on it! Sheesh! What century is this?

I'm still going to plan on being out there in the morning.

See ya.

I will be at Mozola at about 8 doing a little trimming on #'s 2 and 5. I will keep the crew out of the fairways so just hit the fairways and its no problem.

My company is sponsoring the clean up so I will be there but working :( Maybe I could play afterwards.

Unless the weather turns and the company folks bolt. :D:D

Thanks for the pix Michael!

Hope you didn't find us to be too much in the way of your work day out there! It all looked good when you guys were done!
