Okay, found this in last months meeting minutes. Seems like there was a post with a map as well, somewhere.
Army Trail Workdays- Please volunteer your efforts at Telgue every Saturday and/or Sunday until further notice anytime between 10 am until dusk. Even 1-2 hours at a time is helpful after your Saturday and Sunday minis. Winter is the time to get this kind of stuff done! No need to call or check, just show up at any time between 10 am and dusk.

Sunday Work/Play day at Telge/Bud Hatfield is ON
The weather isn't totally cooperating but we're still going out to work and play and we're doing BBQ brisket, beans & potato salad for lunch! Planning to start at 9am. If it's raining then, we'll push it a little later, but the plan is on. Hope to see some other hardy disc golf souls out there. :p
BTW, the first 10 Mach V baskets have arrived. Hole sponsorship information available soon.

IF you aren't planning to be up at Shawshank playing or watching the US Masters this Sunday (4/10/11), head over to Texas Army Trail for work and play. Chuck and crew will be working from 10am til around 2pm installing 10 baskets for the front loop of the course. :D They'll break for lunch and then plan to play a small mini. If you want to check out the first 10 holes, show up, lend a hand and plan to play.

Fred told me yesterday they were holding a mini out here every Sunday, installing the 10 baskets and pulling them afterwards each week... that's allot of work... what's the hold-up on permanently installing the baskets? Just curious.. thanks

Right now, we’re concerned about leaving them, due to the continuous trespassing….
We have found fresh shotgun shells, pistol shells, etc.
We have even caught trespassers before…. Kids, and a dirt biker that was caught by a sheriff two or three weeks ago.
As we have two locations per basket, we can’t permanently affix them in place. Each one of those baskets may be removed by a bolt…. What we’re thinking of doing is tack-weld a couple of places on the poles. E.g., weld the collars to the poles, etc., so they can’t be removed….
For now every Sunday at 2, we'll have the basket in place for a mini-fund raiser.

isn't it a lockable collar that is cemented into the ground?

The collar would effectively only lock the pole. The basket and above could still be removed. Some tack-welds should resolve the problem.

You can never be too careful. Sux, but it's true.

That certainly is true. I didn't realize the concern was the basket itself.
Sounds like your plan is good.

Harris County has informed us that the park is not open to the public, so please only play on the weekends while a volunteers are working on the course. You may also contact Chuck Haney for access during the week. We don't know when to park will be open to public play.

So are you guys playing minis out there on Sunday to raise funds for new baskets? I heard 2pm sundays is that right?
freddie

Yes we are playing every Sunday at 2pm. $10 entry fee with $5 going to payout and $5 towards fund raising. Or just pay $5 and play on a card. We play the 10 baskets twice for a total of 20 holes. We're usually working from 10am to 2pm, so come early and practice.

Can someone confirm this? Rumor has it that it's at 5pm. Or is that time for just this Sunday?

The rumors are true!
After walking around in the 105 degree heat on Sunday, we've moved the time to 5pm Sunday on 5/12/11. Plus in two weeks we're moving the weekend mini to Saturday. So from 5/18/11 onward, we'll play on our TAT mini on Saturday.
Other changes:
Baskets for 8 and 15 are installed! Hole 8 is a 350 foot toss down a 30 foot wide fairway with just a few trees near the end. Hole 15 is a 420 foot throw that gradually bends to the left with plenty of trees.
Also we've install alternative locations (anchors) for baskets 1,2,3,4,16 and 17. During the mini we'll play 18 holes : 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,15,16,17,18, Alt-1,Alt-2,Alt-3,Alt-4,5 and 18. The last group to start will throw 1, then move 1's basket, throw 2, then move 2's basket, etc.

We look forward to seeing you Griff and 'smokin joe'.
We played the new format Sunday and with 16 unique throws is almost seemed like a complete disc golf course. If you make the Windwood Mini, then want to head over to Texas Army Trail, the gates should be un-locked for the work crew. So you could probably come early and practice.
Some of us should be there working on hole 13.
