Re-design before new concrete tee pads go in...

I haven't heard or seen any discussion about this so here's my $0.02 worth.


Why put in concrete tees if the course needs a design update? I was out there yesterday, and the course is NOT anything like it used to be. The entire front 9 has been drastically altered. My understanding is they've taken around 100 dead/dying trees from the park.

It's sad what has happened to our old little lady. With the years of use and natural erosion and now the decimated results of the drought, it's probably a good idea to think about a face lift to go with those new shoes. Moffitt is near and dear to those of us who planted the disc golf seeds here. We would be most interested in redesigning before the new concrete tee boxes and how about talking to Trees for Houston about replacement trees?

As of this writing, we are requesting for it to be placed on the agenda for discussion at the next HFDS meeting on December 6th.

I've been campaigning for years to get us hooked up with the HPARD Forestry Division to plant new trees on our courses. Trees are what makes our courses interesting and challenging.

The problem right now is that it just doesn't make any sense to plant more trees when we are experiencing severe drought conditions. The only thing we might be able to plant that will last until next year is some cactus varieties! Yikes!

It would be good to start a dialogue with HPARD about re-forestation plans so that when it is determined that the drought is over, we can be ready to start moving.
