Default Course Maintenance & Improvements

I went out to Burke-Crenshaw and was surprised to see a new basket put up to replace the stolen one on #6. It is now located on the north side of the hill instead of the south side. A nice double chained disccatcher. Who did that? Parks dept.?

Last edited by DPdiscer; 08-25-2008 at 10:08 PM. Reason: spelling of disccatcher

Sounds like that course is starting to come around. Those hills make it fun.

Chuck's been calling around & it looks like the only park open down south is Burke-Crenshaw, so we're heading over there to check it out after work today...probably get there around 5 or 5:15. Can't get through to the parks department at Brooks, so they're probably still closed.

I just got back from a round at Burke-Crenshaw with my parent's and my son. It's been at least six months since I played the course and what an amazing change! The course has gone from being pretty sketchy to being in excellent shape. There are new tee markers and maps plus at least three new baskets.

You still have to watch for the occasional picnicking family on the course, but there's definitely no reason not to miss this course. With Seabrook being in rough shape I can see myself going to this course a lot now.

Did they add trees? I was out there last week just to putt and it still looks like an open field.

One new basket to replace the twice stolen one on 6 and it got placed on the north side of the hill instead of the old south side placement. I painted the tee markers, but #9 short is still hurtin and #7 long tee marker is long gone. I tried asking Pasadena Parks for some help, but gave up after one try. Its a good enough course when you are tired of playing the other nearby courses.

I have to work the election next Tuesday night over on Allen Genoa, but don't have to be there until 6:30...so I'll probably be heading over to the park after we close the office at 3:30 here in Clear Lake (if anybody's interested in meeting me there around 4:00).

Still plan on throwing a round this afternoon out there....between 4 & 4:15 I should be able to get there. Chuck might come if he gets finished at school in time.
