The players spoke & we listened...make your plans now for Saturday, March 31st as Birdshot DGProShop presents Surely You Jester at the recently revved up T. C. Jester course! Not only is the course revved up...so is the payout! Recent discussions regarding the "sliding scale" MPO entry fees that we have been featuring for over a year have deemed the scale unnecessary, so MPO players will now be paying the same entry fee. Not only that, but we have decided that just since PDGA says we can do an 85% payout doesn't mean that we have to....so after much head-butting back & forth we have also decided that payout should be 100%!
How do ya like them apples? Also, that $500 ace pot that hasn't been hit since last July is still up for grabs...so if you know any players that hear all of this very cool news & decide that they don't want to play, then all you have to say to them is, "Surely you Jester!"....registration will be up very soon at www.houstonbirdshot.com!

Is that 100% before or after fees are skimmed?

That's right (regarding the aces hit at HOHO)....duh! However, we have had a second $500 ace pot sitting at the ready as well (that's what I was thinking about...they were both sitting there at the same time actually)...

To answer JimG's question (which Patrick already did on the Suggestions for Birdshot thread!), the 100% payout is, of course, AFTER PDGA sanctioning & player fees & any other tourney expenses...I still say skimming is a poor word choice!

Hmmm... okay. I'm sure that there are other terms for this same kind of thing in almost every game. In poker, it would be called the "House Rake." It's a percentage that the house takes out of every pot at a casino. Not exactly analogous, but near enough if you think about it. Skimming has kind of a negative context to it, whereas "the rake" is pretty much understood and accepted by casino players. (while it isn't thought of positively, it is accepted that the house has to be compensated for providing the venue and facilities for a game.)
My question is: When is registration going to up on Birdshot's website?

Online registration for this event is now up at www.houstonbirdshot.com. Contrary to what Chris put on our website, there will be no jam!
