Sorry about the extra long post, but here is all the info on my next tourney. -Tom "Stop Crying Disc Golf" presents: Ought to Be Awesome at Austins Colony This is the first PDGA sanctioned event in Bryan/College Station ever! Where: Austins Colony Park in Bryan, Texas (for directions see "Local Courses" link on my web page www.stopcryingdiscgolf.com ) When: Saturday January 24th, 2009 Checkin and Warm-up 8:30 - 9:30. Players meeting at 9:30. First round begins at 10am. Count on a 45min break between rounds. Things should be all done around 4:30 but I can't control how quickly/slowly the rounds go. I can only make sure things start on time. What: 2 rounds of 18 holes. Incredibly 9 extra holes will be added to the course to make it a full 18 holes. If you have played Austins Colony before, you have never played it like this. Most of the added holes are in the woods making the course much more technical, but there are still a handful of long bombs and several definite ace runs. Here is a rough course map. Who: Anybody and Everybody Divisions for Men, Women, and Juniors of all ages and skill levels. Beginners are Welcome...but because this is a PDGA sanctioned event, non-PDGA members (except for Juniors) will have to pay an extra $10 fee. The $10 fee can be applied towards full PDGA membership later should you choose to do that, and you will receive a rule book and PDGA sticker as well. You can become a PDGA member at PDGA.com or you can sign up at the event. See the PDGA web page for more info on membership costs and benefits. Why: Because these events are a lot of fun. Meet new people who love Disc. Win trophies and/or prizes for various contests such as CTP's (closest to pin), Long Drive and Putting Contests. For Amateur divisions, 100% of entry fees (aside from $2/player PDGA fee) goes into prize pool paid back out to top 50% of each division. For Pros, 85% of entry fees goes into prize pool, paid back out to top 40% of each division. Cost: Pro Divisions playing for cash pay out Pro Open (MPO) $50 Mens Pro Master, Grand Master, Sr Grandmaster, Legend (MPM, MPG, MPS, MPL) $40 Pro Women (FPO) $40 Womens Pro Master, Grand Master, Sr. Grand Master, Legend (FPM, FPG, FPS, FPL) $30 Amateur Division playing for prize merchandise vouchers Mens Advanced (MA1) $25 Mens Intermediate (MA2) $20 Mens Recreational (MA3) $20 Mens Novice (MA4) $15 Mens Advanced Master, Grandmaster, Sr Grandmaster (MM1, MG1, MS1) $25 Womens Advanced (FW1) $20 Womens Intermediate (FW2) $15 Womens Recreational (FW3) $15 Womens Advanced Master, Grandmaster (FM1, FG1) $20 Junior Boys Under 19, under 16 (MJ1, MJ2) $15 Junior Boys Under 13, under 10 (MJ3, MJ4) $10 Junior Girls Under 19, under 16 (WJ1, WJ2) $15 Junior Girls Under 13, under 10 (WJ3, WJ4) $10 Please pre-register online at titleDISC, or by snail mail. I will take entries on the day of the event before 9:15 (assuming the event does not fill ahead of time) but the more people who pre-register the better. Too many last minute entries may cause delays. A quick email letting me know you are coming will make things much easier. Any other questions, email me at: discgolf@tomyocky.com Hope to see you there Last edited by tyocky; 01-06-2009 at 01:41 PM. |

Since I am not going to be able to make it, tiff would probably love to tag along with anyone going, if they have an extra seat available. Shoot her a pm or phone call if you feel like dealing with her for an hour each way.

I'll have some sort of signs up to point the way, but the more people I can get this bit of info out to ahead of time the better. So FYI...tournament HQ will be at a more secluded pavilion which is near the #9 basket (of the regular 9 hole course layout) which from the parking lot is beyond the basket ball court near the Hockey rink.
I've gotten a lot of messages from people claiming to be coming and paying on the day...so just because the pre-registration list looks like a low turnout, please don't let that fool you. I have high hopes for this one to be a pretty big turnout. I think this is my 10th post...will that make me a "par" or am I still a "bogey"...let's see... |

Dixon Jowers has expressed interest in coming to this but we need some others to play in open for the division to make. I've gotten a few maybe's from various open players over the last couple weeks but nothing for sure. Anybody else want to play in Open?
