Post Pray for Par at Crosspoint Community Church of Katy

Are you a new player looking for some quick, cheap tournament experience? Birdshot is having a mini tournament at Crosspoint Community Church in Katy on Saturday, Feb 28th. Novice and Rec - $5, Intermediate and Advanced - $10, Age Protected Pros - $15, Open Pro - $20. Day of registration only from 8 - 8:45. Quick clinic from 8:45 - 9:00 if anybody wants one. Anybody. Short players meeting at 9:00 and then tee off for 2 rounds of 9 baskets. Crosspoint is a fairly easy course with some challenge for the new player. The payout is cash for all divisions. Even though its not PDGA sanctioned, PDGA rules are followed. For more information on Birdshot minis go to our website at www.houstonbirdshot.com

I bet Int Adv and Pro would work great for these minis since having too many divisions will only cause there to be 1 person divisions and it is just for fun. Plus those Protected masters should play open in these as well. I mean there are like what 4 Pro players living in Houston who aren't age protected.

Good play on words! C.J. will be missed and that means other players will have a chance to win the division he would of played in.

When I pulled up to Crosspoint Community Church at 7:30 am, it was cold and windy. I thought that I might be by myself. I did the course evaluation and the course is in good shape. The chain ring is broken on basket #8, but that is it. Then Tiffany and Patrick showed up, Nick Escobedo, Jack Camp and his 2 youngsters, Richard and Nicole Cazares, Sam Price, Barts buddies, Cory and Jeff, Keith Michaelis showed up in good form. They just kept coming and we had 19 players play a round on the regulars and a round on some good alternates by Tiff. She runs a good mini. Thanks to all the new players that braved the wind. There were some 5 foot putts blown out of the basket. Results are on the Birdshot website. Next mini next weekend at Mo City Community Park.

The wind was brutal. It was difficult walking into the wind much less throwing into the wind. SuperGirl (Nicole) still had a good time. She rarely gets to play disc golf on back to back weekends. However in the last 2 weekends she got to play in the Gonzales Tournament with Des Reading, Mel Ring and Jennifer Beazley, and now in the Birdshot mini with Tiffanny. So she's had a really fun time. Hopefully she will get to play more in the spring.

Thanks............Rick

I had three kids from our school club show up and while they didn't like the wind, they had a really good time. Thanks for making this happen for beginners as well as people who have played for a while.
