Default The Old Astroworld site

With some landscaping, wouldn't make one hell of a disc golf course? I guess I am dreaming, but that would be cool. We could have a pro shop that rents disc, and really put disc golf on the map in this town. Just an idea.

Yeah but I think they wanted better returns after destroying a multi-million dollar park. I would rather play with the rides still there as obstacles.

Hmm, interesting, you certainly could make an awesome course there. However, the reason Astroworld closed was because the park's revenue was to low compared to the value of the porperty. Your course and pro shop would have to do some SERIOUS business.

Now as far as day dreaming goes, try this one on. Picture a course inside the Astrodome. Tee boxes, fairways and greens placed on platforms built at various elevations throughout the seating area. That would be sweet. However retrieving a disc that went out-of-bounds could really slow down your round.

heck, you can play ON the field in the DOME. They could set up the nets to divide the holes, like at Classic Par 3 or whatever lighted course that was. That being said, I MISS ASTROWORLD!! I bet that was just an excuse for closing it. The main reason was it was no longer a family park, yet a hive for gang-bangers....that's why it was losing $.

Since we're reminescing here... we went to the rodeo last week and saw that big deserted field on the other side of the highway and it really made me miss AstroWorld as well.
