Thumbs up Taylor Lake Village DGC - Grand Opening Tournament 11/7/2009

The baskets are being delivered and the TLV course is being installed in ten days. That means it is now time to officially announce our grand opening tournament:

In addition to a full tournament (2 rounds, 18 baskets) we are also going to have a number of family friendly activities including a kid's putting and distance competition and some clinics on playing disc golf for people new to the sport.

This is a fund raiser tournament. Entry fees are going towards installing benches and trashcans on the new course. Prizes include medals for the winners as well as donated gift certificates from area businesses and disc golf related goodies. If you are interested in sponsoring the event, please PM me and I'll get you the info.

I hope everyone will be able to make it.

Excellent news Phil. Let me know if you're going to come down and play a round before too.

I am going to try my best to come down next weekend , and bring a few players with me. Gotta see how the wife's work schedule looks first.

I can't wait to check this out Chris!!!

I'll be at Waterloo next weekend so I guess I'm going to have to play this one "blind" for the Grand Opening tourney.

I'm gathering up some merchandise for CTPs and what-not from HFDS officers.

is the distance comp just for the kids? It could be kinda cool to have some of the bigger arms in Houston show up to put on a big display. Maybe some music and what not. Get a big crowd out and some cheering going on. See if Eric could bring the range finder and get some measurements... Just a thought. Maybe I just want to try and bomb a few after watching the distance comps at USDGC.

Initially the distance competition was going to be just for the kids, but yesterday I got a lot of requests that we run it for the tourney players too. How much distance would we need to have clear for a competition like that? The most the park can handle without too many trees is 700'.
