Default Information Please

I have would like to learn to play disc golf. I live in NW Houston, but am willing to travel to make this happen. I have searched high and low for where I can go to do this and have not found anything. I have seen the course directory, but nothing for instruction. Can someone please help me. Thanks.

Marga,
I and 2 friends usually play at Terramont 2-3 eveings a week starting right about 7pm, it gives us enough time to get in 18 holes before the sun sets..We'd be happy to have you join us if you like..Just send a private message, we can exchange numbers and let you know next time we're headed out.

Also you could join up in the mini leagues here and they'd be happy to help you along your way

Go to www.PDGA.com and look in their course directory for all the Local houston courses. You can buy discs at academy, Rick's darts and Games, online, or sometimes at the course.

you can also buy used disc at play it again sports at 1960 and hwy 249 in the Willowbrook commons shopping center. You're bound to lose a few so it's not a bad way to get started.

Hey Marga,

Welcome to the crowd. The easy answer to "how do I learn to play" is to go out and play.

Most people at most courses are eager to welcome and help new players. One of the great things about disc golf is that it's still fun, even if you just started and aren't very good at it yet.

One of the best ways to learn or improve your game is to play with other people, especially ones that are better than you. Ask questions, most players love to offer advice on how to play.

That being said, take any advise you get with a grain of salt. Everyone has their own ideas and their own techniques, you just have to find which ones work for you.

Finally, the overall, number one, most important rule in disc golf is:

HAVE FUN OR GO HOME!!!

PS: You said NW Houston, are you close to the Agnes Moffitt course (1-10 & Beltway 8)?

Right-click on it, then Save-Image. It's just an animated GIF file.
