We got the call from Neal Dambra a few days ago....the Missouri City Parks Department has finally decided to start work on the land that The Links course now sits upon & they will be pulling the baskets sometime in October. I think the plan is to redo the course once the rest of the park area is finished, but that remains to be seen & will be at least a year down the road before they even think about it! So Neal wanted us to facilitate a last hurrah for The Links....we are going to try to sanction it if we can...that will depend on what the Texas schedule looks like that weekend (we're not supposed to crowd the schedule). Either way...sanctioned or not...we will be playing a full tourney, with a morning & afternoon round. As soon as we work out the details we will post up here & on the Birdshot website...but go ahead & put this date on your calendars if you plan to attend....more details coming soon!

Current (but still tentative) plans are to do one round of the classic "blue" layout and one round of the alternate "orange" layout. 19-holes each.

There hasn't been any chatter on this thread since last month....this IS happening, folks & it's next weekend! The baskets are being pulled for the city to do their work on the park...and who knows for sure if & when the course will be back! If you've not been out to play The Links, this could literally be your "last chance"....so make plans to come & play one of the more unique courses in the H-town area!

$20 merch voucher for any player not going OB during both rounds. If more than 1 player achieves this, player with lowest score wins. 2nd tiebreaker - highest PDGA rating. Bart No OB Taylor did it last time we had a tourney at the Links. He wasn't holding back either.

I should have started this on the tourney thread, but I wasn't sure whether or not it was going to be sanctioned yet when I first put it up! There will be a sliding scale for entry fees for anyone wanting to play Open....query Chuck for details!
